Rodney Damond Postel was born on August 13th, 1965 in Dover, Ohio to Polly and Dale Postel Sr. Rodney graduated from Ridgewood High School in West Lafayette, Ohio in 1984 before joining the army and serving at Ft Sill. He served in artillery for eight years and then put himself through the Criminal Justice Academy of Osceola where he earned the Top Gun Award. He joined the Seminole County (FL) Sheriff’s Office in 1995 and in 1999 he moved to Maryville, Tennessee solely so he could work for the Blount County Sheriff’s Office where he served for 25 years, retiring in 2024.
