Luke 14 Celebration
In Luke 14: 12-14, Jesus said to his host, “When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers or sisters, your relatives, or your rich neighbors; if you do, they may invite you back and so you will be repaid. But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”
Each year, we have a Luke 14 event here in Blount County for people with disabilities and their families. This year our celebration will be hosted by Fairview United Methodist, Four Mile Baptist, East Maryville Baptist, Tuckaleechee Chapel Baptist, and RIO Revolution. This is our 7th Luke 14 event, and we would love for you to partner with us on this exciting day!
The “Luke 14 Fall Celebration” will be held Saturday, October 19th, from 10 am to 1 pm at Fairview United Methodist Church. We will set up tents outside and have some fun activities; face painting, a bounce house, crafts, games, a petting zoo, and the VERY popular cake walk! Chuck’s Truck will be serving a hot dog lunch, and budget permitting, we will provide free t-shirts to our friends with special needs. All of this will be provided at NO COST to the family because of generous donations. We want to give families a break from the daily pressures of caring for their disabled loved one and time to connect with others in similar circumstances.
