JANEEN DAVIS, PsyD, MFT

Director of Counseling Ministry

Janeen grew up in Iowa and earned a Bachelor of Science in music and education from the University of Iowa before moving to Nashville, TN over 20 years ago. She founded a non-profit Christian music ministry and enjoyed several years of growing as a musician, touring, and learning leadership and logistics before transitioning into technology sales in Oklahoma.

In 2007, Janeen sold all her possessions and moved into full-time overseas ministry in Asia, where she experienced life altering transformation in her understanding and love for God.  After 2 years overseas, Janeen returned to the States and completed a 3-year Master’s program in Marriage and Family Therapy at Liberty University. She then returned to Asia, where she provided “Member Care” (clinical psychotherapy, Biblical counseling, and pastoral support) to other overseas ministers and their families for nearly 10 years. During her final 4 years of overseas service, she directed the Asia Member Care Team. Janeen also studied at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Malaysian Baptist Theological Seminary, and later became a Doctor of Clinical Psychology at California Southern University.

In 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic prompted Dr. Davis to make a transition from overseas ministry to new areas of service and outreach based in Tennessee, while still providing online Member Care support to overseas workers. In 2021, Dr. Davis joined Peace Pursuit International, where she acts as Vice President, directing logistics and delivering training and consultation in Biblical conflict resolution and spiritual discipleship. She also serves as the Director of the Lighthouse Counseling Ministry for EMBC, where she oversees and supports the training and provision of Biblical counseling and care for individuals and families in the local community.
