JOSHUA DUKE

Associate Pastor of Music

Joshua Duke grew up in Franklin, TN surrounded by music. His grandmother, a musician in the Nashville Symphony and the Grand Ole Opry taught him violin at an early age. He asked Jesus to be Lord of His life in 1993 and shortly after accepted the call of ministry. He received a Bachelor of Science in Music Education degree at Tennessee Technological University in 2003 and then went to The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Lousville, KY where he received a Master’s Degree in Church music. Following seminary, he served as assistant minister of music at First Baptist, Montgomery, AL and worship pastor of Westmeade Baptist, Decatur, AL before coming to East Maryville in the summer of 2016.

Joshua is a minister first; his leadership style and vision for the music ministry at EMBC is that we would grow in love and excellence. He believes in effective Christian worship, we become more like Jesus. Every service he plans is intentionally multi-generational. Psalm 115:1 guides his heart, “Not to us, O LORD, not to us but to Your name be the glory for Your love and faithfulness.”

He is blessed with an incredible wife, Carri and they have two children; Samantha Grace and Elijah.
